A Metropolis, Illinois nel 1993 č stato aperto un museo interamente dedicato a Superman.


L'attore Nicolas Cage, grande appassionato di fumetti e di Superman, ha chiamato suo figlio Kal-El.


Il n. 75 della serie a fumetti Superman nel quale era stato annunciato che il personaggio sarebbe morto, pubblicato nel novembre 1992, ha venduto sei milioni di copie.


A seguito dell'annuncio da parte dell'editore, reti televisive e quotidiani, statunitensi ed esteri, si occuparono della notizia che fu tanto clamorosa che anche il Saturday Night Live ne fece una parodia.
